"Why are some classrooms unclear...even when everyone is paying attention?"

In a learning environment what's important isn't just the visuals or content but "sound" Because if there's too much echo or reverberation in the roomno matter how clearly the teacher speaks students might "not hear everything" without realizing it. This was the challenge for the project NIST International School

The Origin of the Problem: When Classrooms Have More "Echo" Than Expected

Areas within the schoolare used continuously throughout the day whether for

• Teaching and learning
• Collaborative activities
• Communication between teachers and students

All of which require "sound clarity"

But when a room has hard surfacesand no sound-absorbing materials what happens is

• Echo (Reflection)
• Reverberation (Reverberation)
• An uncomfortable listening environment

The Challenge: Reducing Noise… and Still Being "Beautiful"

The objective of this projectwasn't just about solving the echo problem but also had to consider the "overall design of the space" by requiring the acoustic materialsto be an integral part of the design as well.

Solution Approach: Using ZIVANA for Both "Function" and "Design"

Trandar therefore helped design the solution by choosing to use Trandar ZIVANA and installing it in 2 ways:

1. Baffle Installation

Helps increase the surface area for vertical sound absorption suitable for areas where airborne echo reduction is needed.

2. Ceiling Installation

Helps absorb sound from above reducing reverberation built up in the room.

Why ZIVANA?

Because ZIVANA is not just a general sound-absorbing panel but a material that

Result: Classrooms that are "Clear to Hear" and "Pleasant"

Once the acoustic system was installed the atmosphere within the classrooms of NIST International School clearly changed.

• Speech became clearer
• Echo was reduced
• The atmosphere became suitable for learning

And at the same time the space retained its beautiful and unique design.

Because in every lesson the most important thing is that "everyone hears clearly."
