When a dance learning space is located in the middle of a bustling avenue

             In a vibrant location like an avenue or lifestyle community, sound is a natural part of the atmosphere—whether it is the chatter of people, the noise from shops, or various activities taking place throughout the day. However, for dance studios—especially those teaching ballet, rumba, or other dance styles—one thing just as important as wooden floors or large mirrors in the practice room is the acoustic quality within the space.

This was one of the key challenges for the Ballet Studio @ K Village project on Rama 4 Road, which aimed to create a fully functional dance studio even amidst a surrounding environment filled with ambient noise.

The Starting Challenge: When a dance studio is located in the heart of a lifestyle space

K Village is an avenue space featuring various shops, restaurants, and activities throughout the day, resulting in constant movement and ambient noise in the surrounding area.

For a dance studio that relies on music, rhythm, and students' concentration, the acoustic environment inside the room is crucial. Without proper acoustic design, issues may arise such as:

• External noise disturbing classes and teaching

• Music from inside the studio leaking into adjacent areas

• Lack of privacy during practice sessions
  
  

For spaces requiring continuous rhythm and focus in movement, these issues can directly impact the experience of both instructors and students.

   

Solution: Sound Insulation Wall System for Activity Spaces

To ensure the studio operates at full efficiency, the team chose the Trandar Hitech Wall system for the studio's interior wall design.

The Hitech Wall system was developed to help control sound transmission between spaces, featuring a multi-layered wall structure designed to reduce the travel of sound waves.

Key features of this wall system include:

• Helps reduce noise from outside the building

• Reduces the transmission of music to surrounding areas

• Enhances acoustic balance within the studio environment
  
  

This system allows the practice space to maintain an appropriate atmosphere for dance classes, whether it is ballet practice, rumba rehearsals, or other dance activities.

      

When the Unexpected Happens: Post-Earthquake Inspection

Following the recent earthquake, the studio owner was concerned about the safety of the interior building structure and the installed acoustic wall systems.

The Trandar team conducted a thorough inspection of the wall systems inside the studio.

The inspection results showed that:

" The wall system structure remains robust and fully functional, with no damage affecting the safety of the space. "

This inspection provided reassurance to both the owner and users that the space remains safe and ready for classes and practices.

A great dance space requires both rhythm and acoustic serenity.

The Ballet Studio @ K Village project demonstrates that dance studio design is not just about space, mirrors, or practice flooring. Interior sound control is also a crucial element that ensures high-quality learning and practice sessions.
