               Many homes are designed to be aesthetically pleasing, fully functional, and well-suited for living. However, once moving in, many families encounter an issue that few consider from the beginning: indoor noise disturbance.


Sound from one room can travel to another.

For this home on Soi Phatthanakan 54, the owner wanted to address the acoustic challenge right from the design phase, ensuring the house is both versatile and maintains privacy in every room.

And this is the beginning of the Private Residence Phatthanakan 54 project.

Designing a home capable of controlling interior sound across all rooms to ensure privacy for each individual space.

Key Challenge for This Home: A Quiet Haven in Every Area

This newly built two-story residence was designed to accommodate a wide variety of activities under one roof.

With the main areas divided into:


  • Ground floor: Serving as the common area of the house, featuring a large dining room for family quality time.

  • Upper floor: Dedicated entirely to the bedroom zone, which requires quietness and privacy.

However, what makes this home present a more complex acoustic challenge is that one of the bedrooms includes a musical instrument playing zone.

This means sound from musical activities could easily transmit to other rooms in the house if proper acoustic insulation systems are not designed. Crucially, constructing interior brick walls was not desired.


Design Concept: Soundproofing Without Building Brick Walls

Generally, resolving sound issues in homes involves building brick walls or concrete walls to add thickness. However, for this house, the homeowner wanted the interior structure to remain lightweight and flexible for design.

Therefore, the building structure was designed with concrete perimeter walls, while Trandar's acoustic wall systems were chosen for the interior to create an additional layer of sound control.


The team therefore selected the systems:

Trandar Hitechwall TSIS71 , TSIS58 and TSIS57 

which are acoustic wall systems engineered to reduce sound transmission between spaces without the need to build additional brick walls inside the house.

Materials that enhance the performance of the acoustic wall system, enabling the wall structure to control sound more effectively.

When all these materials work together within the Hitechwall system, they create a wall capable of effectively reducing sound transmission between rooms.
