At Phaya Thai intersection, one of Bangkok's busiest spots

Siam Patumwan House is located amidst the movement of people, city sounds, BTS, and an unceasing rhythm of life.

This building is connected to BTS National Stadium and is located near the National Gallery, making the Lobby not just a passageway, but a welcoming space for diverse people throughout the day.

The Lobby is the first area building users experience. It is a hub for walking, waiting, conversation, and communication. However, such a large open space often comes with an unseen problem — overlapping echoes and noise that make the atmosphere uncomfortable.

When sound is not controlled, conversations become tiring, the sense of professionalism gradually diminishes, and the clear First Impression is drowned out by chaos.

This is an important design challenge by DWP which aims for this Lobby to not only be beautiful, but also to “sound good”.

The role of Acoustic Ceiling Trandar Focus F

The Acoustic ceiling with V-groove tongue-and-groove and smooth surface quietly began to take shape. Not as the most prominent element to the eye,but as an element that makes the entire space “function as it should.”

Trandar Focus F helps absorb echoes, reducing reverberation within the space.

This makes conversations clearer, and the overall atmosphere calm, comfortable, and friendly for many users at the same time.

At the same time, the ceiling is also designed to align with architectural concepts,

both in terms of form and surface. It adds dimension to the Lobby area without disrupting the overall design. It also accommodates important building systems, such as lighting, air conditioning, and fire protection systems, seamlessly.

Ultimately, the quality of a Lobby is not measured solely by its luxury, but by the feeling people experience from their very first step inside.

And at Siam Patumwan House, the right amount of quiet is one of the important details that helps this building perfectly welcome every rhythm of city life.
