📖 Project Story — When a leading Thai bank required a perfect meeting room in every dimension.

Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) is one of Thailand's oldest and most reputable financial institutions. Every decision made in the Excom Room at its headquarters is an organizational-level decision that impacts the bank's direction and millions of customers.

This meeting room is not just a room; it's a space where every word must be clear, every idea must be heard, and every decision must be made without disturbance.

But that was a tougher challenge than anticipated.

🔊 Hidden Problems in the Executive Meeting Room

High-level executive meeting rooms are often designed primarily for aesthetics. The materials used for decoration are typically hard, clean, luxurious, and beautifully reflective surfaces.

But that itself is the root of the problem.

Every hard surface in the room acts as an acoustic mirror, reflecting sound waves throughout the space. The speaker's voice hits the walls, reflects off the ceiling, bounces off the floor, and returns to the listener's ear in mere milliseconds, causing sounds to overlap and become unclear.

In executive-level meetings where multiple attendees speak alternately, this problem intensifies. The reverberation causes communication confusion, requiring repetition, requests to speak louder, and transforming what should be an efficient meeting atmosphere into unnecessary fatigue.

The in-house design team at Siam Commercial Bank knew there was a problem but needed experts who could solve it without compromising the meticulously planned design.

🤝 The Beginning of Collaboration — When designers needed more than just materials.

The design team at Siam Commercial Bank contacted Trandar Acoustics with a clear objective — to solve the echo and reverberation problems in the Excom Room without affecting the aesthetics of the room, which was designed to reflect the professionalism and credibility of the institution.

What made this project different from typical acoustic solutions was that Trandar didn't just recommend products; they came in as Acoustic Consultants, collaborating on ideas and design from the outset.

🔬 The Process for Precise Solutions — Acoustic Simulation

Before recommending any materials, the Trandar team did something rarely done in typical projects: they simulated the echo and reverberation of this meeting room.

The simulation clearly showed how sound waves traveled in the room, where the most severe reflections occurred, and how much absorption was needed in each area.

This simulation data became the foundation for designing a precise acoustic solution specifically for the Excom Room, rather than guesswork or generic formulas.

🛠 Custom-Designed Solution for This Room

Based on the simulation data and analysis in collaboration with Siam Commercial Bank's design team, Trandar recommended a two-layer acoustic system that works in harmony.

✅ Trandar Voke — Wall-mounted Acoustic Panel

Voke was chosen for installation on the walls of the Excom Room to absorb sound waves hitting vertical surfaces.

The highlight of Voke in this project is its ability to naturally blend with the room's design. It doesn't look like an afterthought but rather an integral part of the original planned decoration, all while effectively absorbing reflections from the walls.

✅ Trandar Focus F — Ceiling-mounted Acoustic Ceiling

Focus F was installed on the ceiling to manage sound reflecting off the overhead surface and circulating back down.

The combined action of Voke on the walls and Focus F on the ceiling created an acoustic environment that covered all sound travel directions, eliminating any dead spots where sound could reflect and cause disturbance.

Once the Trandar Voke and Focus F systems were fully installed, the Excom Room completely transformed.

The echo that used to disrupt meetings disappeared. Speakers could talk at a normal volume without raising their voices. Listeners heard every word clearly without straining, and most importantly, the room's design remained beautiful and luxurious, exactly as the design team intended.

The Excom Room at Siam Commercial Bank thus achieved both desired outcomes: perfect design and perfect sound, all in one room.
