One room, can do everything — but if it's echoing, all activities become difficult immediately

This is the challenge for the Multipurpose Zone in the Google Philippines project, which needs to accommodate learning, meetings, and team activities.

When a single space must accommodate “all activities”

Within the Google Philippines office, a Multipurpose Zone has been designed for various activities such as

• Learning and teaching
  

• Training or workshops
  

• Team meetings
  

• Employee collaborative activities
  

Such diverse usage means the space must accommodate both clear communication and a comfortable atmosphere for use.

However, with an open-plan space and accommodating many users, echoes within the room became an issue to be addressed from the design stage.

Approach to addressing the space's sound issues

To control sound within the Multipurpose Zone, Trandar ZIVANA acoustic panels were chosen. These panels are designed to help absorb sound reflections within the space. The material structure is made from Wood Wool Panel, which has an open structure. This property allows the panels to absorb sound energy reflecting within the room and effectively reduce echo problems.

Good acoustics make the space truly usable

When echoes within the room are reduced, various activities within the Multipurpose Zone can proceed smoothly, whether it's

All sounds can be communicated more clearly and help create a more comfortable working atmosphere.

When designing a space, “sound” must be considered from the beginning
