How did Trandar HitechCeiling solve this problem at Phothisarn School?

Imagine a day when the school holds an important ceremony, the principal is giving an opening speech on stage, and then it starts to rain. The sound heard in the auditorium at that moment was not the sound of the emcee, but the thunderous sound of rain pounding on the metal sheet roof, so loud that everyone in the room couldn't hear each other. That was the reality that the newly built auditorium of Phothisarn School faced every time the weather changed.

Project Challenge

The new auditorium of Phothisarn School was designed to support various uses, including sports competitions, large meetings, and various ceremonies. This area must be ready for use at all times, regardless of the weather conditions.

However, the selected metal sheet roof became a major weakness because metal is a material that transmits external sounds very well. Whether it's the sound of rain, gusty winds, or even passing airplanes, all penetrate inside easily, making it very difficult to use the auditorium when there is external noise.

The challenge was therefore clear: to find a system that could effectively block external sound by installing it in the ceiling under the roof, without affecting the existing completed structure.

Solution offered by Trandar

Trandar proposed the Trandar HitechCeiling system, a soundproof ceiling system specifically designed to block external noise transmitted through the roof. This system works by creating a sound insulation layer under the metal sheet roof using the principle of Decoupling, which isolates vibrations between the roof structure and the ceiling, combined with materials that simultaneously absorb and block sound.

The result was a significant reduction in the thunderous sound of rain that once filled the entire auditorium. The sounds of passing airplanes and other external environmental noise were also reduced, all without having to dismantle or alter the original roof structure.

Results

The auditorium of Phothisarn School has become a functional space for all intended uses, regardless of heavy rain. Sports competitions can proceed, large meetings are uninterrupted, and important school ceremonies run smoothly without external noise disrupting the atmosphere.

This project demonstrates that metal sheet roofs and good functional performance are not contradictory, as long as the correct soundproof ceiling system is installed underneath.
