Many systems = can't do acoustics? Not always true.

If you choose the right materials and installation method you can “solve sound problems” without wasting time and budget on reconstruction.

 Real case study from Srinakharinwirot University, Innovation Building project

 In modern learning buildings, “sound” is another crucial element that directly affects the quality of learning.

 But the question is… if the site has limitations regarding “system work” filling the entire space, can we still design an acoustic system that yields real results?

🔍 Problems encountered: When design meets actual site conditions

 The SWU Innovation Building project is a space designed to support modern learning, but upon entering the actual site, it was found that

 👉 There were numerous systems on the ceiling including pipes, air conditioning, and complex structures, making it “impossible to install a full-system closed ceiling” according to the original design.

 At the same time…

 reverberation problems in the classroom became more evident, affecting actual use.

💡 Solution: Adapt the design to the site (not force the site to adapt)

Instead of sticking to the original design, the team chose to “adapt the concept” to align with the limitations,by selecting 2 main solutions from Trandar Acoustics.

🎧 Classroom: Using Trandar Gedina E as Baffle Instead of a full closed ceiling,  the design team chose to suspend Gedina E as “Baffle”.

👉 Benefits gained:

• Effectively absorbs sound reverberation in the room
• Leaves space for the systems above to “operate fully”
• Adds a design dimension to make the space look more modern

📌 Result: The classroom became quieter, sounds clearer, without having to modify the existing system.

🎯 Another area: Installing Trandar FocusF ceiling

In areas where a ceiling can be installed, FocusF was chosen for direct sound control.

👉 Highlights:

• Absorbs sound reverberation from the ceiling
• Reduces echo and reverberation
• Provides an atmosphere suitable for learning and communication

🚀 Results of this project

• Solved sound problems “without having to dismantle systems”
• Adapted the design to actual site conditions
• Added both functionality and aesthetics simultaneously
