Cafe The Forebrains BTS Onnut

When acoustic panels are not just for "reducing echo", but become a part of the design

Many are familiar with the traditional image of acoustic panels installed on walls or ceilings to reduce echo within a space. Today, however, acoustic materials are no longer designed solely for functionality. Because today, sound-absorbing materials can also become an integral element of interior design.

This is the concept behind the project Cafe The Forebrains BTS Onnut, where the owner wanted to create a café space featuring both distinctive design and a comfortable acoustic atmosphere for visitors.

Project Details

Project Name: Cafe The Forebrains BTS Onnut
Solution Used: Zivana Acoustic Panel

The Origin of the Idea: From Acoustic Material to Bar Counter Design

During the material selection process for the space, the owner became interested in the texture and surface finish of the ZIVANA panels, which offer a unique look unlike conventional decorative materials.

Instead of using them solely as sound-absorbing panels on walls or ceilings as in the past, the owner chose to incorporate Zivana as a key design feature of the cafe's bar counter.

The result is

  • Textured and uniquely dimensional decorative surfaces

  • Distinctive designs that set themselves apart from conventional decorative materials

  • While retaining built-in acoustic absorption properties

More Than Just Decorative Materials: The Sound Absorption Properties of ZIVANA

Beyond surface aesthetics, Zivana also features properties that help absorb reverberant sound within the space, creating a more acoustically balanced café atmosphere, such as:

    • Reducing echoes within the venue

    • Making conversations within the area more comfortable for the ears

    • Preventing excessive noise or reverberation inside the store

This allows a single material to meet both design and acoustic requirements.

Modern acoustic materials that become an integral part of design

The Cafe The Forebrains BTS Onnut project demonstrates that sound-absorbing materials today are no longer limited to wall installations just to solve noise issues. They can also be used as interior decoration elements to create a unique identity for the space.

    Because sometimes
materials that enhance acoustic quality can also be part of an outstanding design at the same time.
