📖 Project Story — When Thailand's leading bank demanded a meeting room that is perfect in every dimension

Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) is one of the oldest and most trusted financial institutions in Thailand. Every decision made in the Excom Room at this head office is a corporate-level decision affecting the direction of the bank and millions of customers.

This meeting room is therefore not just a room, but a space where every word must be clear, every idea must be heard, and every decision must be made without distraction.

And that was a tougher challenge than expected.

🔊 Hidden Issues in Executive Meeting Rooms

Executive meeting rooms are typically designed for visual appeal first. Interior materials are usually hard surfaces that look clean, luxurious, and beautifully reflective.

Yet, that is the root of the problem.

Every hard surface in the room acts as an acoustic mirror, bouncing sound waves across the space. A speaker's voice hits the walls, reflects off the ceiling, bounces off the floor, and loops back to listeners' ears in a fraction of a second, overlapping the sound and making it unclear.

In an Executive meeting with multiple participants speaking in turn, this issue becomes even more severe. Echoes cause communication confusion, requiring repetition and louder speaking, turning what should be an efficient meeting atmosphere into unnecessary fatigue.

The in-house design team at Siam Commercial Bank knew there was a problem, but they needed experts who could solve it without ruining the meticulously planned design.

🤝 The Beginning of Collaboration — When designers need more than just materials

The Siam Commercial Bank design team reached out to Trandar Acoustics with a clear brief — solve the echo and sound reflection issues in the Excom Room without compromising the room's aesthetic, which was designed to reflect the professionalism and credibility of the institution.

What made this project different from typical acoustic troubleshooting is that Trandar did not just recommend products, but stepped in as an Acoustic Consultant, collaborating on thinking and design from the very beginning.

🔬 Precision-Driven Process — Acoustic Simulation

Before recommending any materials, the Trandar team did something rarely done in typical projects: simulating the reverberation and echo of this meeting room.

The simulation provided a clear picture of how sound waves travel in this room, which points experience the most severe reflection, and how much absorption is needed in each area.

This simulation data became the foundation for designing a precise acoustic solution specifically for the Excom Room, rather than relying on guesswork or standard formulas.

🛠 Custom-Designed Solution for This Room

Based on the simulation data and collaborative analysis with the Siam Commercial Bank design team, Trandar recommended a dual-layer acoustic system that works in harmony.

✅ Trandar Voke — Wall Acoustic Panels

Voke was selected for installation on the walls of the Excom Room to absorb sound waves hitting vertical surfaces.

The key highlight of Voke in this project is its ability to blend naturally with the room's design, avoiding an "added-on" look and instead appearing as a planned part of the interior decoration while effectively absorbing wall reflections.

✅ Trandar Series F — Acoustic Ceiling

Series F was installed on the ceiling to manage sound reflecting upward and looping back down.

The combination of Voke on the walls and Series F on the ceiling creates an acoustic environment that covers all directions of sound travel, eliminating dead zones where disturbing reflections can occur.

Upon completing the installation of the Trandar Voke and Series F systems, the atmosphere inside the Excom Room transformed completely.

The echo that once disrupted meetings is gone. Speakers can talk at a normal volume without straining their voices, listeners can hear every word clearly without having to strain, and most importantly, the room's design remains as beautiful and luxurious as the design team originally intended.
