Some guest rooms at MELIÁ Chiang Mai

are located adjacent to the restaurant zone and upper-level functional areas. Voices, movement sounds, and vibrations can transmit directly down into the guest rooms. Even with good wall partitions in place, noise from “above” remains an inevitable weak point.

Therefore, the challenge of this project was not just “how to prevent sound from bleeding through rooms,”

but rather “how to make the guest rooms quiet from all directions.”

Trandar Hitech Wall: The Beginning of Silence

Trandar started with the design of Trandar Hitech Wall to partition guest rooms, reducing the transmission of speech, activity sounds, and noise between units.

Hitech Wall is engineered as a high-performance acoustic wall system ideally suited for hotels requiring both

Superior sound insulation performance
Immaculate installation finish
And health safety for occupants

But for MELIÁ Chiang Mai, this is not enough. When noise originates from the "ceiling", the solution must go beyond the ordinary.
From our site analysis the Trandar team found that noise from the restaurant upstairswasn't just transmitting through the walls, but was transferring directly through the structure and ceiling into the guest rooms.

This prompted Trandar to "rethink" and the answer was Trandar Hitech Ceiling

Trandar takes the concept and structure of HitechWall and extends them to horizontal applications, evolving into the HitechCeiling acoustic ceiling system.

When used together:
- HitechWall controls sound at the wall level
- HitechCeiling controls sound from above
  
  Both systems work together as one.
The result is comprehensive noise reduction without compromising the hotel's interior design. This is not just adding materials, but designing a systematic acoustic solution.
