AUA Language Center
The new building of AUA (AUA), or the American University Alumni Language Center, features prominent red brick architecture in the Ratchadamri area. The design has been modernized while perfectly retaining the essence of AUA, providing opportunities for interested individuals to use the facility.
It is a 7-story red brick building prominently located on Ratchadamri Road, designed as a symbol connecting the cultures of two countries: Thailand and America. This is because schools or universities in both Thailand and America often have brick buildings to varying degrees. The additions have adapted the building to serve more functions than just a language school, such as a marketplace, movie screenings, concerts, theaters, as well as a library and an auditorium.
AUA Language Center
The Auditorium at AUA Language Center is designed to be Multi-Purpose or Multi-Functional, accommodating 220 people. It can be used for seminars, as a theatre, or for concerts and stage plays, fitting all these needs. The designer intended for the entire room to use hard surface materials.
Starting from the walls, everyone will clearly notice upon entering the AUA building that both sides of the walls are constructed entirely of masonry bricks. The choice to use brick walls here helps with sound diffusion (Diffuser).
Auditorium of AUA Language Center
Given that the Auditorium of AUA Language Center is designed in this manner, it is crucial for this room to have an appropriate RT value. For those unfamiliar with Reverberation Time, it is the time taken for the sound to decay after the original sound source has stopped. To select the appropriate RT value for this room, it must depend on 3 factors: the function of the room, the volume of the room, and the shape of the room.
Trandar Acoustic (Trandar Acoustic) has collaborated with the designer, assisting with the acoustic design. We helped simulate the room's RT value to ensure an appropriate RT that does not disturb users. Therefore, Trandar recommended installing an acoustic ceiling, which was the only remaining space in the room. We recommended using Trandar Focus F acoustic ceiling from Trandar.
If everyone looks up, you'll see that the ceiling looks similar to a plain ceiling, but in reality, Trandar Focus F has tiny hidden grooves, only 4 mm in size. You'd barely notice them even if you looked up! What's even cooler is that this room has Trandar Focus F acoustic ceiling painted black to match the designer's concept.
Trandar Ecophon Focus F model has a very high NRC value and is certified by the Astma and Allergy Association from Sweden. It has received an Emission Class M1 rating from Finland, which is the highest level, meaning it contains no volatile VOCs or formaldehyde and is certainly harmless to users.
Furthermore, if you are designing a closed room like this, air quality within the room is very important. The ceiling used must not shed dust. Trandar Ecophon Focus F model meets the requirements in terms of its beneficial properties for users and for the design of this room.
