Project THE RICE by SRISUPHARAJ (The Rice by Srisupharaj)
The THE RICE by SRISUPHARAJ project, formerly the "Merry Kings Saphan Khwai" department store, has redeveloped this area into the luxurious office building The Rice, located at the corner of Saphan Khwai intersection, standing prominently at 26 stories tall. The owner, Srisupharaj Company, is praised for this office building's unique modern design, inspired by the shape of rice grains, making it a new landmark in the Saphan Khwai area.
Architects & Associates Co.,Ltd., a renowned design firm, was commissioned to design this building. The design concept aims to reflect and preserve the original identity of this area, as it was formerly "Thung Srisupharaj," a fertile rice field where rice was grown and buffaloes were raised. A bridge was built there for buffaloes to cross the canal, which led to the area being called "Saphan Khwai" (Buffalo Bridge), and it has been known by this name ever since.

Beyond the ceiling's compliance with the design concept, the Trandar AMF Star acoustic ceiling was chosen by the owner for several reasons. It is a standardized ceiling material recognized by international institutions as highly safe, offering excellent light diffusion of up to 90%, surpassing other Trandar Star sound-absorbing ceiling surfaces. And most importantly, its main benefit is its excellent sound absorption with an NRC value of 0.6. The installation was neatly done by Power Line Engineering Public Company Limited, the main contractor for this project.

The advantage of The Rice office building being made of glass is that it brightens the building and reduces electricity usage. However, this eventually leads to issues with echo and reverberation from the glass. Therefore, acoustic ceilings and sound-absorbing ceilings are crucial for constructing office buildings.

Credit must be given to the designers who integrated Thai identity into the building's architecture to blend with the environment, making it a new landmark at Saphan Khwai intersection. It can be said that this will revolutionize the Saphan Khwai area, making it beautiful and modern once again. Upon completion, this building will undoubtedly become a hub of premium experiences in the Saphan Khwai intersection area, as well as a new iconic landmark for the locale.

Let's look at the interior spaces of The Rice building. The project comprises office buildings and a Shopping Mall, with the basement to the 4th floor dedicated to various shops, and the 5th to 26th floors serving as office rental spaces. As everyone knows, this building's design is inspired by the shape of a rice grain. The office areas required that the ceilings on all floors be acoustic T-bar ceilings with a smooth, white surface resembling rice grains. The Trandar AMF Star sound-absorbing panel has small dots and a creamy white color, similar to rice grains. With The Rice's style and design concept, attention to every material detail became the reason why the owner chose Trandar AMF Star pattern panels, size 600x600x15 mm, installed as a system with Trandar T-bar frames, 24 mm wide (Trandar T-bar T24).
