Sound Insulation Simulation Program INSUL Acoustics Software
The Ultimate Standard in Acoustic Services
From Trandar Acoustics' experience in providing both Research and Development and
as an expert acoustic consultant, we found that installation or construction based on selecting
materials that are good enough still doesn't truly meet the customer's desired objectives.
Therefore, Trandar Acoustics introduced software services, namely the INSUL program, to allow customers to
understand the actual original sound levels and the sound levels that can be made acoustic. It also helps
prevent errors in material selection.

INSUL is a sound insulation simulation program (INSUL Acoustics Software) which is convenient,
fast, and accurate in calculating various values. It is mostly used to predict the sound insulation performance of
wall systems, and can effectively predict the properties of various materials. It is a program
that calculates the sound insulation values of walls, floors, ceilings, and windows. It displays the transmission loss in the form of
1/3 OCTAVE BANDS frequencies and the Weighted Sound Reduction Index (STC or Rw), and can
calculate sound insulation values. It can adjust materials or change designs. It is convenient, fast,
and accurate in calculating various values.
Currently, INSUL is a popular software used by all factories producing gypsum boards, fabric
ceilings, and walls. Let's see how the INSUL program can benefit you!!
5 Benefits of the INSUL Program for Excellent Acoustic Applications
1. Predict Transmission Loss of Impact Sound and Rain Noise
INSUL is a program for predicting the sound insulation of walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, windows, impact sound and
rain noise of floors and roofs. The program can provide good estimations of Transmission Loss (TL) or
Impact Sound (Ln) in 1/3 octave bands and the Weighted Sound Reduction Index (STC or RW)
or Impact Rating (IIC / LnTw) for calculating noise transfer or design or acoustic requirements.

2. Evaluate Material or Design Changes
INSUL can be used to quickly evaluate new materials and systems or check the effects of
changes to existing designs as material models. It uses well-known elastic plate theory, including allowances for
thick panel effects as published by Ljunggren, Rindell, and others. More complex partitions
are modeled using the work of Sharp, Cremer, and others.
3. Continuous Development
INSUL has been available for over 15 years and has undergone significant improvements during this time. It has been developed in
many versions and has become a very user-friendly tool that leverages the Windows and Mac environments.
It has been continuously refined by comparison with laboratory tests to achieve acceptable
accuracy for a wide range of constructions.
Test data can be easily entered for comparison with predictions, and structures can be saved tobe recalled later.

4. Identify Constructions with Speed and Confidence
INSUL considers effects of size and area limitations, which are very important when predicting areas
in small sections such as windows, and for common normal components with low frequencies as well.
However, INSUL cannot replace measurements. Nevertheless, regarding comparison with
test data, it indicates that INSUL can reliably predict STC values within 3dB in most construction projects.
This will enhance the ability of acoustic consultants and product manufacturers to identify structures
quickly and confidently to achieve the desired airborne sound insulation.
5. Multilingual Functionality
INSUL can be switched to display information in English, French, German, Polish, Spanish, Swedish, or
Mandarin. The translation is carried out by acoustic experts to best suit the technical terminology commonly used
in each country.
Noise problems are a significant issue that commonly occur in office buildings,
residential areas, or even in industrial factories. It is a risk that negatively affects
work significantly. Especially in industrial factories, which are the noisiest workplaces, due to
the operation of machinery, it can cause disturbance and prevent employees from working effectively.
If you want to create a good and efficient working environment, Trandar Acoustics therefore enhances its
services with INSUL Acoustics Software, providing peace of mind and worry-free solutions. No need to rework orrebuild structures in the future.
