In premium commercial interior design, especially in zones that must balance aesthetic experience with practical functionality,

the challenge goes beyond mere visual appeal to encompass acoustic quality within the space. This was the starting point for the project: King Power One Bangkok – THE SQUARE Zone

The Design Brief: When “3D Curved Design” Goes Beyond Aesthetics

THE SQUARE was designed as an activity and entertainment zone within the King Power Shopping Mall, requiring striking architectural prominence while accommodating high-traffic practical use.

The project's challenge:

The ceiling was not a standard flat plane, but featured a continuous 3D multi-directional curved structure. Each section resembled a "cap" curving harmoniously along the line, creating a fluid and continuous spatial dimension.

At the same time,

this architectural geometry was highly prone to echo and reverberation, especially in a semi-enclosed multi-purpose space.

The Challenge: Complex Design + Acoustic Control

The design team required a material capable of fulfilling all requirements:

• Adapting to complex 3D curved geometries
• Providing a seamless, flawless finish
• Providing sound absorption within the space

Conventional ceiling materials could not meet these demands.
