How to design soundproof walls for a house with a music room?

Key Challenge for This House: A House That Must Be Quiet in Every Area

This house is a newly built two-story house designed to accommodate various uses within the same dwelling.

The main areas are divided into:

• Ground Floor is the common area of the house, comprising a large dining room for family gatherings.

• Upper Floor is the zone for all bedrooms, requiring quietness and privacy.

However, what made the acoustic challenge for this house more complex is that one of the bedrooms has a zone for playing musical instruments.

This means that sound from musical activities could potentially transmit to other rooms in the house if a proper soundproofing system is not designed.And importantly, there was no desire to build brick walls inside the house.

Design Concept: Soundproofing Without Brick Walls

Generally, solving noise problems in houses often involves building thicker brick or concrete walls. But for this house, the owner wanted the interior structure to remain light and flexible for design.

Therefore, the building's structure was designed with main concrete exterior walls, while Trandar's soundproofing wall system was chosen for the interior to create another layer of sound control.
