“A good museum does not tell its story through sight alone,
but must control the ‘sound’ to be quiet enough… until stories from the past resonate in the minds of the audience.”

In designing the exhibition space of the Phimai National Museum, Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province
a space rich in history, art, culture, and stories from hundreds of years ago.
But at the same time, it has to accommodate a large number of visitors, with their conversations, footsteps,
and echoes inside the building, which become a challenge that must be meticulously managed.
The chosen material is not just “beautiful” but must be a material that feels natural, harmonizing with the context of the place,
and helps absorb sound to reduce reverberation and echoes without destroying the museum's atmosphere.

The answer is Trandar Zivana, an acoustic panel that meets both emotional and functional needs. It has been used in the highlight areas of the exhibition zone, on both vertical and horizontal ceilings, covering an area of over 390 square meters, with deliberate coloring of the acoustic panels to add dimension, beauty, and harmony with the overall design. The result is not just a quieter space, but one where visitors can fully concentrate on historical stories. Echoes gradually disappear,
leaving only the clearer sound of learning.

And this is another example of design that thoughtfully uses materials, allowing architecture, history, and visitor experience to move forward in balance.
